The International Festival of Creative Documentary Film of the Mediterranean

Since 2019, El Obrador de lo Real has organized Majordocs, the first international documentary film festival in Mallorca. A slow festival that focuses on an immersive and intimate experience, where each screening is a meeting between authors and audiences.

Majordocs focuses on the intimate and reflective authorial documentary. Each edition selects a dozen films that shy away from the immediate and dare to look at the world with depth and sensitivity.

In addition to screenings, the festival hosts a professional program with industry activities, creative residencies, mentoring sessions, training, and networking opportunities. Among its proposals are the Majordocs Mentorships, the CalmaDocs residency, and the new European VIVODOC network, promoted in conjunction with other festivals.

Held every October in Palma, Majordocs is not just a festival: it’s a meeting point for thought, cinema, and cultural resistance.
